Natural Neroli Oil

An intensely floral, sweet, and citrusy aroma with murmuring notes of spice and honey, Neroli Oil is one of the most beneficial essential oils in terms of supporting the mind and body by promoting feeling of calm and relaxation, as well as better skin.

Just like the season of spring, Neroli Oil’s fresh and revitalising properties have been held in high esteem, even attracting the nose of a princess to its potent scent.

Descending from Royalty

The bitter orange tree (Citrus aurantium) is one of the most valued botanicals in the fragrance world, providing us with a trio of essential oils: the green leaves and twigs produce Petitgrain, while the cold-pressed peel of the ripe fruit gives us Bigarade.

But it’s the blossoming white flowers that gives us our Neroli via steam distillation just 24 hours after being picked to ensure quality is kept – hence the oil’s alternative name, ‘orange blossom’.

In the late 17th century, Anne Marie Orsini, duchess of Bracciano and princess of Nerola in Italy, is said to be the first person to distill orange flowers for scenting her clothes, baths, and gloves.

This kickstarted Neroli Oil’s popularity as a versatile essential oil, with many benefits when used in specific ways.

However, what some people don’t realise is that there are two main types of Neroli variants: Neroli from Tunisia and from Morocco.

Zanos offers products from respected French supplier, Payan Bertrand – a pure and natural variant derived from a single batch, or a lower cost alternative that is also 100% natural that may be created from different batches.

Uses and Benefits

As previously mentioned, this essential oil is proven to help ease feelings of stress, tension, and anxiety, both physically and mentally. Applied as a compress, via a diffuser, or through direct inhalation, it works by transmitting messages to the limbic system region of the brain which controls emotions as well as influencing the nervous system.

Decreasing blood pressure, headaches, insomnia, menopausal symptoms and boosting immunity as a result.

When used in cream and lotions, it further stimulates cell growth to regenerate the skin which works well for combatting stretch marks and broken capillaries.

Here at Zanos, we source only the finest, high-quality, natural essential oils and synthetic aroma chemicals, including Neroli Oil.
